Who We Are

We are a children's cancer charity, based in Hampshire, but serving a large geographical area across the South of England (click to see map here). We provide direct help to children with cancer and their families.

The Joe Glover Trust (tJGT) believes that no child suffering from cancer, or their family, should ever feel alone. We provide ongoing practical, emotional and financial assistance to children, and their families, whose lives have been changed forever by this life threatening disease. We also support the health professionals that treat children with cancer across the South of England.

Map of Piam Brown Area

We work in partnership with the health care professionals based at regional paediatric and haematology unit, the Piam Brown Ward, based at Southampton General Hospital, Southampton, which covers the geographic area of Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, East and West Sussex, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

We are dedicated to supporting children and their families affected by cancer. Imagine (if you can) the strain that is put on a family who, after one or two investigative trips to the hospital, are faced with the news that a much loved son or daughter must bear, with their support, the pain and trauma of the treatment and the full consequences of having a cancer.

When your child is diagnosed with cancer, as a parent you feel utterly helpless and isolated. You and your family are plunged into a state of complete anxiety and fear, and the lives of everyone close to you are turned upside down.

We hope that through tJGT we can provide additional support to those who may feel alone and lost during their child’s  treatment. This may be as simple as talking to other parents in a similar situation about what's happening around them. A parents support group, supported by the Piam Brown ward, has already been established.
