Paul Glover - Chairman of Trustees and Co-Founder
Paul is one of the co-founders of the Joe Glover Trust and currently acts as the Chairman to the board of Trustees. The trust was founded following the death of Paul and Maxine’s son, Joe aged 8, to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (NHL) in August 2006.
He is married to Maxine, the other co-founder and in addition to Joe, they have two other children, Alfie and Daisy. Paul wanted to get involved in improving the help for children and families, having spent around 18 months in treatment with Joe.
Paul says: “There is so much trauma families have to endure when their child has cancer and very little "real" help to offset this. I have been inspired by the courage, brevity and dignity shown by all children faced with this adversity, but especially Joe and it has changed my life.
I am privileged enough to be in a position where I can help others and I take my lead from Joe’s example. I would like to make a change to other people’s lives that have to help their children deal with childhood cancer. The burden that brings is immense in terms of the physiological and psychological stress. In addition there are many hidden additional costs that bring financial pressure pressures of having a child with cancer. Having been through that journey myself, I want to help others where that help is needed”.
Paul assists in the Corporate Fundraising activities for the Trust and its Marketing and Promotion, together with the adjudication on grants and awards. |
