Nicholas Allen - Trustee
Nick became a Trustee for the Joe Glover Trust at its inception during 2006 and helped with the other Trustees in bringing the Trust to Registered Charity status in early 2007.
Nick and his family live near Romsey, local to the Trust’s base in Hampshire. Nick’s daughter Marnie was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2005 and, after a devastating four month battle, she died aged five on July 24th, 2005. Nick’s wife Petra, and Marnie’s twin sister Georgia, have remained close to the Glover family throughout their own tragedy during Joe’s battle, having shared many times together on Piam Brown Ward. Nick brings his own direct familiarity with the circumstances addressed by the Joe Glover Trust to his role as Trustee.
Nick has worked for a US IT company for over 30 years covering a number of IT hardware and software development roles in planning and project management. Nick’s experience in dealing with projects, scheduling, negotiating, budgeting and general IT contacts brings strong value to the Trust’s cause and the Trustee’s responsibilities. Nick lists his hobbies and interests as general home maintenance!, fly fishing, good food, good wine and good company.
In addition to Nick’s general role on the Board of Trustees, he chairs the Trusts Finance Committee and has further involvement in the Trust’s strategic direction and promotional marketing.
